Spy App Comparison is an independent, educational site. It is not a counselling service, an investigation firm, or a legal or medical practice. No counsellors, no investigators, and no professional credentials are claimed here. It is a plain reference to the categories of apps that come up in these situations and what their presence does and does not mean.

The editorial discipline

This site names no products, links to none, and rates nothing. It is not a comparator of spy or monitoring software, and it does not recommend, describe, or link to any way to install it. Installing monitoring software on another adult’s device is a crime in most of the US and the EU, and it is never recommended here. That discipline is the whole point of the site \u2014 it is what keeps a reference from becoming a facilitator.

How the categories were written

Each category is written as a plain description of what the apps are, an honest reading of what presence means, and \u2014 crucially \u2014 what presence does not prove and does not mean. Every category carries a real, non-dismissive ordinary explanation, because the point of the list is to stop a single observation from becoming a settled conclusion.

How the site is funded

The site is funded by one sponsored offer behind the full guide on the home page. The free pages \u2014 the categories, the what-to-do guide, and everything else \u2014 are complete on their own and never blocked. The offer is optional, and nothing you do on this site is ever sent anywhere by it.
